Think Equal in Nuevo León, Mexico
We began a small pilot in Monterrey, Nuevo León in August 2018, which has become a jumping-off point for a much larger rollout! Leslee attended an event organised by Encuentro Mundial de Valores on April 1 2019, where Think Equal and their local implementation partners EMV (Encuentro Mundial de Valores) signed Letters of Interest with the mayors of 6 cities confirming their interest in introducing the programme to all of their preschools this September.
Leslee has also met with María Teresa Meléndez and Gilberto Guevara Niebla from the Ministry of Basic Education of Mexico and they are excited to see Think Equal brought to Mexico’s children as the tools which concretise the national policy of Education for Peace and Against Violence.
Master Training in Mexico City
10th & 11th January 2020 in Mexico City, Mexico – Think Equal’s Founder & CEO Leslee Udwin, and Master Trainer Marco Gutiérrez, assisted by Viri Gutiérrez, trained the next group of Think Equal Master Trainers from our amazing partners Fundación NEMI & Enseña por Mexico (Teach for Mexico) in preparation for the next stage of Think Equal rollouts in Mexico. Think Equal Director of Programmes, Giulia D’Amico, also joined Leslee for meetings in Mexico City about expanding the programme further.
Think Equal in Guerrero, Mexico
Think Equal has partnered with World Vision Mexico to bring the programme to the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The training was held via Zoom in August and the programme is being rolled out in 400 classrooms across the state, including several indigenous schools. All materials, including the training materials, have been translated into Spanish for this project, to ensure for effective and culturally sensitive implementation. In October, a ceremony was hosted to celebrate the start of the programme and the completion of the teachers’ training.
As pictured above, during the ceremony our founder Leslee Udwin congratulated and thanked those involved in a speech that you can watch here.
