The global education ecosystem has seen remarkable disruption in education this year. We have also seen an encouraging willingness among educators, parents, and students to embrace new ways of teaching and learning. During this pivotal moment in the history of education, internationally renowned education non-profit HundrED has just released its fourth Global Collection at its first completely virtual online HundrED Innovation Summit.  Think Equal, was one of the innovations recognised in the report.

HundrED’s annual Global Collection highlights 100 of the most impactful innovations in K12 education from around the world to anyone for free. The goal is to inspire a movement by helping pedagogically sound, ambitious innovations spread and adapt to multiple contexts across the world. To make this year’s Global Collection, a shortlist of innovations was reviewed by 150 Academy Members consisting of academics, educators, innovators, funders, and leaders from over 50 countries. In total, there were 3404 reviews by the Academy based on their impact and scalability that were then evaluated by HundrED’s Research Team to make the final selection. Think Equal was chosen due to its unique approach and its potential to create a sustainable impact in education.

The selected 100 innovations cover various fields of education statistics for the collections are as follows: 55% of the selected innovations target the development of 21st-century skills, 34% require internet access, 47% develop traditional academic skills, 20% develop vocational skills, 63% develop holistic skills like empathy, mindfulness, etc. 73% innovations are non-profit, and 34 % of innovations are implemented in out-of-school contexts

Saku Tuominen, Chairman & Creative Director of HundrED of HundrED, said: “Spreading innovations across borders can be a gamechanger for education, worldwide. We will continue to encourage as many stakeholders as possible including schools, educators, administrators, students, and organizations to get involved so that we can work towards a positive future.”

This year’s collection was launched as the first-ever completely virtual HundrED Innovation Summit. This three-day event brought together thousands of education stakeholders from around the world and connect attendees, no matter where they were physically, with energy, inspiration, and excitement.

Since 2017, the overarching goal of the HundrED Innovation Summit has been to celebrate the selected hundred innovators on a global stage. The aim of this year’s Summit was to unite the community and create space for positive energy to percolate, allowing everyone involved to feel a part of something bigger, and leave knowing that there were inspiring things happening in education across the globe, right now.

Leslee led a workshop titled Think Equal: A comprehensive Early Years SEL programme and its tangible toolbox which was incredibly successful and received many people sign up. You can watch the recording of the session here.
